Hello! I will be posting investment strategies and my personal finance journey here. But first, let me introduce myself.
My name is GAN , and Iโm going to become a full-time trader and make a million dollars !
All my life, I have struggled to study or focus on one thing for too long. That is likely why Iโve quit every job Iโve ever had in less than a year. I started as a programmer, moved to desk jobs, and eventually transitioned into manual labor like painting, factory work, and most recently, industrial baking.
Constantly shifting fields doesn’t exactly scream “thriving career”. Recently, turning 30 and quitting yet another job forced me to reflect. Iโve been working since I dropped out of school at 17. I never liked working for other people or even being around people, for that matter. I hate the constant stress of worrying about how to get by. Even living alone, living cheap, and owning almost nothing, it still never feels like freedom. It makes me sound spoiled and lazy, and itโs hard to disagree with that but something needs to change.
The only thing I actually have the ability to focus on is planning and strategizing. I enjoy building spreadsheets for investing, budgeting, and researching most aspects of my life. Finance and business have always interested me, especially the stories they tell. The idea that a small, obscure detail can set off a chain reaction to become something massive is just epic.
My plan going forward is to travel and invest. I will share my current strategy while constantly hunting for new opportunities. Worst-case scenario? I lose most of my money and have to return to a “real” job. I am old, but still young enough to recover if that happens.
Over the last few years, Iโve refined my main strategy until I was finally satisfied. I see a strong possibility of consistently outperforming the market. I view this as a long-term, semi-active savings account that is well-diversified and relatively safe. There are no “YOLO” plays here. Alongside this main strategy, I have other plays in mind that Iโll be testing with real money soon.
I will dive deeper into these strategies in later posts. Besides the strategies themselves, Iโll be doing market research on individual companies and sectors. I will also be posting my personal finance journey like a blog. This is a way to put myself out there and maintain some accountability and direction.
I hope some of you find value in my posts. Perhaps you can implement my ideas or, at the very least, learn from the mistakes I will inevitably make on this journey.
